The Vita is very much alive, and while it might not be thriving like the Nintendo Switch, it's still one of the best handheld consoles, and totally worth owning. But why should you buy a $225
I'd say Vita is best all around because it has Adrenaline which allows it to run pretty much everything that PSP would on top of it's own native apps. It also has a way better screen. I can't really think of any reason a PSP would be better. 3
GenoCL Is there a reason to prefer a PSP over a Vita? QUESTION I have both consoles, both hacked and I understand a Vita is basically a powered up PSP that literally makes it obsolete. Is there a reason to prefer a PSP over a Vita aside from personal preference?
Hardware wise it's pretty clear that the Vita is better. Library wise I think it may be a toss top because, at least digitally, you can play PSP games on the vita so you have all of that on the Vita too. I have both and I love both. 32 dj2muchxx • • 2 yr. ago Agree with you.
Obviously the raw tech specs on the Vita are going to be better than the PSP. That's to be expected across console generations. The main draw to the PSP over the Vita, besides the games of course, I think has a lot to do with the climate of the tech world at the time.
PSP vs PS Vita - Top View. Niko Silvester. As mentioned, the PS Vita is thinner than the PSP (that's a PSP-2000 in the photo). It's not a huge difference, but you can feel it when holding both of them. You can also see the various other buttons and inputs are shuffled around quite a bit.
The PS Vita is thinner and lighter, while the two models share the same hardware. They have a similar feature set, although the PSV is slightly better. The PSV has a wider screen and higher resolution than the older PSP. The Vita can even download games from the popular PSP 2000.
